    Dear all,

I'm having an issue with the forums. Since I ticked the box "remember me" to remain logged in I get logged out each time I make a post.

This is highly annoying. Cookies are enabled. IE6 SP2. Any ideas?

    Regards,

    Martin

However each subsequent time you clear the cache it will log you out.

Thats done the trick, thanks. :)

Why would it do that? Does it only use cookies to store the session variables? I've never used vbulletin.

Try using Firefox rather than Internet Explorer? Always hated IE :D

I like Firefox but they need to stop trying to reinvent the wheel and realise that the majority of sites have (wrongly) been built around IE instead of standards.

Until they do this Im reluctant.

Usually clearing your cache clears these sorts of problems. Let us know if it happens again. :)

Anthony the problem is getting worse, it's now losing the session just whilst browsing around from page to page.

I've got no similar problems on other forums. I've even tried using Firefox with the same result.

I cant believe Im the only one with this issue. Really strange.

    Sorry to be a pain.

No, medium and I've also added the site as trusted.

It's worse now, the session is expiring mid post and I've just lost a huge reply I was writing. No idea whats causing it.

Removed cookies, cleared cache, changed browser, nothing.

I had these problems a while back,

Delete anything related to the forum. Cookies, favorites, everything.

Then type the password in. Then click the remember me button. Then type your password and press enter instead of log in.

That worked for me when i was having problems.

After you have done what Wasmack has suggested, try re-installing the browser and upgrade the latest version (if you haven't already.) This is quite a common problem, it just seems you have got it worse than most people get. Normally clearing cache and deleting all offline content does the trick for me, if you have tried that already with no success then your next option would be to remove the browser and re-install it from scratch.

Let us know how you get on..

I updated firefox instead. Even as *cough* Microsoft partner we wont risk updating our systems to IE7 just yet.

Don't flame me for the MS affiliation, please....:D

    Hey accent,

You should really use Firefox simply for security reasons :) but I understand you being upset with the whole "many sites still only run with I.E" but lucky for us all there is a FF Add-on for that.

    https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/1419/

You just Right Click on a link and can open it in a new tab using an I.E. browser (so no need to swap browsers). Might help :)

It might be the security on your internet. I had the same problem and a quick tinker with the firewall etc... worked a treat.

It's fine under Firefox, just IE coughs at the forum session vars. I think they are expiring somehow.

    Anyway, Firefox will do.

    I appreciate all the responses.
