Waiting on a DHL shipment this morning and decided to double check tracking. And i get:

Shipment held - Available upon receipt of payment

I must have received at least 100 DHL shipments from abroad and all of them have been delivered BEFORE payment. Has anyone experienced this before with them?

Am i now waiting for a letter or do i need to call them etc?

Give them a call they probably just want you to sign a promise to pay form and they'll release it.

I had this last time I used DHL. I called and paid them, spoke to some guy in India that annoyingly just reads from a script and cannot answer a direct question without recalling an epic monolgue. After the delivery was made they sent me an unpaid invoice - which obviously I had already paid so I rang them back up, bearing in mind they are very difficult to get through on the phone, it took me around 20 attempts - each attempt cost me 20p, robbing gits.

Put me off using them again if I'm honest.

If you have the waybill/ tracking number, you should be able to pay on-line here
Click the flashing link on the left (underneath 'invoice'), enter your waybill number to get the amount due and pay by card.
The last few times I had deliveries from abroad by DHL, they called me to take payment over the phone. I declined because I prefer to pay on-line and they seemed fine with that.
