Hi I need advice regarding the taxes etc importing from China.

I bought few different toys worth £430 to check the quality of the products and they sent shippment by dhl and got a message from dhl that I have to pay £71 taxes on it.

Can someone advice me if around 16% taxes applicable on toys.

I don’t have any vat or business registered yet.

Also please advice me for my future import taxes.

    Thanks

Duty on toys can range from 0% to 4.7% depending on the type of toy. However they would also be subject to VAT at 20%. This is normally payable on the goods value PLUS shipping cost. The maths don't really work out as it looks like they are asking you to pay a bit less than is actually due, but you do need to consider these expenses as part of your cost budget.

    exactly!!!
i saw someone make declaration of less amount on the importing invoice or shipping by sea, not by express.
you can also found some logistic service provider, which they responsible for custom clearance, means, if any duty, they pay for you.
