Very good guidelines. Don't forget to include common spelling mistakes for your item! People often spell the names of items incorrectly. Putting the most common ones into your description helps these poor spellers to find your item.

    Product Description: Emphasize Benefits

Great resource. One other thought is to emphasize benefits. I took an Adwords course where they split-tested a multitude of different Google Adwords ads against each other, and they found that putting a products "benefits" (instead of features) first is very important. Features are important as well, but it's easy to forget to mention what the product will do for the person (make them look attractive, fit in, etc.).

I agree with these tips, however this works when you list just a few products, where you can have detail descriptions, but when you have to list 1000s, or 10000s then it's really much more complicated.
Unless you have deep pockets and can afford high quality copywriters, you end up grabbing up pieces and bits from the Internet plus the manufacturer's own description.

Great post Quad Band Phone, very helpful guide for sellers. The 55 characters available for your listing title are valuable eBay real estate so sellers should use wisely.

    1. Ensure you include brand name, gender, size and as many keywords as you can in your listing title.
    2. Use your keywords frequently, formatting where appropriate and ensure your description is unique content.
    3. Complete item specifics as much as possible.
    4. Use high-quality images to show off your product(s) and use a white background if you can.
