Hi Guest!

Our website stays online because of the support of our advertisers. A huge part of them are from banner ads that appear on our site. While some of them seems to be intrusive for some, these ads are needed to keep our community running and continue providing free membership service for buyers.

In light to this, we request that you disable ad blocking programs or add our website to your ad blocker's whitelist. This keeps us from offering our basic membership to everyone for free and help with maintenance costs of our website.

    Hello Everyone,

Since we have accomplished Step 1 of the Marketplace's development, we are again taking another step towards a better marketplace for all our users.

We understood everyone's concern regarding incomplete offers, wherein buyers tirelessly ask basic questions which should have been provided in each offer, and some advertisers list for the sake of listing, and not providing valuable information to make a transaction more clear for everyone.

As such, starting Monday, 18 May, 2015, we will be implementing a new system in listing offers in the marketplace. All advertisers will see a new "Create Thread" template, wherein new fields are needed to be filled up before it will be allowed for listing

Upon filling up this form, all members will see a new layout in our forums which should be similar from the example below:

As noted, this system is created to adhere to the community's request and to add uniformity in all offers being listed in our marketplace. These items are based off on the common questions asked by buyers, indicated in our marketplace template, and while some of them are required before posting, some are merely optional for our advertisers to provide additional information in their offers.

This will first take effect in our Stock Marketplace, and the Service Marketplace will have their own template after a few days. To also add for the convenience of our advertisers, we will be opening a separate section in the Stock Marketplace which will only be for General Stocklists.

Update: The service marketplace has now been applied.

    Thanks,
    TWF Management

Are brokered deals still being offered as they seem to have the most problems?

Very nice @Erik . Good to have for both ease for us advertisers and for ease for potential buyers. Thanks for the roll out!

Brokered deals is an option on the template and I haven't heard of any plan to stop them, the buyer will be able to see the stock is brokered before buying however.

So far we have not received any appeal or suggestion to stop everyone from listing brokered items and as Jed said, we're just using the old template to apply to these changes.

We could though but if we do get a full study about it, and have an idea on how much it affects transaction issues in our marketplace. But I think it's fairly important (and thus, now required) for advertisers to indicate the status in their listings so to at least make the buyers informed. I think the important take here is that buyers will now be presented of most of the important details and decide on their own whether to agree with the sale or not, just so we are showing potential buyers and new members of the community to not go out there blindly just because they saw a good deal.

    Thanks Greg :) ,
While this will be rolled out today, We'd still like this system open for feedback and suggestions. So as for advertisers, if they see some issues or that they are having difficulty using it, we'll try to adjust it that would put balance to both sellers and buyers. Apart from this, we still have a few more projects at hand which we'll be releasing as we go along the year, so watch out for those too :).

Is it possible to have some feedback system in the future? May give buyers some hope that they aren`t going to get ripped off?

    Hi Dave,

Definitely. That is actually part 3 of our development, a real business directory which advertisers can use to provide full details of their business (including maps), and at the bottom part, an actual thread where buyers can leave feedback.

Feedback directly in offers might have a problem since we cannot find a development method on how to apply that without anyone compromising it (example: unverified buyers leaving feedback), so we thought to better yet apply it instead on the business information of sellers, and sellers may put that link into their signature, or better yet, in their offers as a reference to potential buyers.

That is still in development though, and there is still no exact date on when could it possibly be put live. We are however keen to make that available soon, it's a highly requested feature after all! :)
