Online marketing is tricky It takes you to invest time, money and effort in order to rank on top. As per my research, SEM involves paid part of the promotion (PPC) along with the ethical SEO. But which one is better? SEO or SEM?

    Please enlighten me.
    Thank You

Whether you are running an integrated SEM campaign yourself or through utilising the services of a digital marketing agency, there are numerous advantages of integrating the two channels to deliver an audience-led strategy. Essentially it is possible to glean informative insights from historical data from Google Analytics and Google Ads/Bing that can inform your campaigns to assist in generating increased amounts of revenue, or a greater number of leads.

This is especially the case with regards to PPC, as it is possible to see the exact search queries that users are typing in to not only land on a website, but also the ones they are using to generate revenue/leads.

It is also possible to identify the top landing pages and products that are driving traffic traffic and generating revenue. Once you have amassed the data, ideally the following questions should be pondered:
    • Which paid campaigns generated the most sales?
    • Which paid keywords generated the most sales?
    • Which product sales from PPC generated the highest volumes of sales?
    • Which keywords have an impression share of <100% and have also sent paid revenue?
    • Which keywords have an impression share of <100% and have the highest conversion rates?
    • Which keywords have an impression share of <100% and have the highest average order values?
    • Which product sales from organic search drove the most sales?
    • Which landing pages from organic search drove the most sales?
    • Which page 1 keyword rankings match up with the highest organic revenue driving pages and products?
    • Which keywords appear to be driving product/page revenue due to Organic work that has been completed?
Following on from this, a content strategy that informed by the data should then be planned and executed. This should include shift a greater amount of Paid budget to the top revenue driving campaigns, as well as optimising and creating new Ad Groups for highest revenue driving keywords using budget saved from the campaigns that are not performing. It would also be ideal to optimise existing and create new Ad groups in relation to the highest SEO revenue keywords opportunity, utilising the budget saved from the lowest performing paid search campaigns.

It is then ideal to review your top category and product pages driving to ascertain if there are any content gap opportunities to apply keyword variations that have not been included following on from analysing revenue driving search queries from paid search.

It goes without saying, that while doing the above one should also be increasing a website's backlink profile to complement the onsite work being undertaken. It is essential to remember that an integrated SEM strategy is ongoing and regular in-depth analysis needs to be undertaken to ensure that a positive ROI is being generated.

I hope that this proves to be useful.

If you're looking for long term stable results, then you should be focusing on SEO tactics and if you're looking for some quick results, then you can opt for SEM.

Although I will suggest you to focus on both the things, as they both come hand in hand when use it in a proper ratio.

Both SEO and SEM are important. SEO is about optimizing your website to get better rankings in the search results while SEM goes beyond SEO. It involves other methods that can get you more search engine visitors like PPC advertising.

SEM is like putting an advert on the side of a bus and hoping someone is looking when the bus go past. SEO is giving people the means to find the bus they are lookign for

Both SEO and SEM are better and important. SEO has two methods one is off-page SEO and another one is On-page SEO. In this off-page you will do some off-page SEO techniques to get high-quality links and on-page SEO to depends upon optimizing your website through content, heading tags, meta descriptions, page speed.

Coming SEM search engine marketing it is totally paid section. Here you will advertise your website through search engines like Google. Google will do your websites promotion through search engines results page. You need to pay for this as per google charges.

I believe that a good place to start is by finding your target audience (Who is a better customer for you and who is it more likely to buy from you). From here you decide whether you should prioritize SEM or SEO. In any way they are both just as important!

Both of them are great and can help to improve your business. However, I prefer SEO more.
